“See Me Now”, soon to be released on Kanye’s new record, was leaked the other day. This alone isn’t particulary interesting. HOWEVER, a few days before I heard the leak, I came across a video of Kanye at Facebook rapping a verse a cappella, which I now see is a verse on “See Me Now”. It’s a cool juxtaposition to listen to the two videos on their own; the a cappella verse ends up sounding much more like slam-poetry than when its backed by an instrumental. With the beat behind it, it ends up sounding like typical Kanye overly witty wordplay. But that’s neither here nor there.

What do you think of the actual song? It’s a little different from what we normally hear from Kanye.
As a big fan of his old stuff, it seems like a step in the right direction. For a while, the newer his stuff got, the less I liked it. See Me Now changed that pattern.
