Daydreamin’

I always knew that the vocal melody for Daydreamin by Lupe was sampled, but until recently, I didn’t know the song. It turns out he drew quite heavily from the song Daydream in Blue by I Monster, which samples the Gunter Kallmann Chorus version of Daydream, which is essentially a cover of Wallace Collection’s song Daydream from 1968. Stay with me. The actual sample used in Daydreamincan be found in the first few seconds of I Monster’s track, but I definitely recommend checking out the other videos too, especially the Wallace Collection music video…it basically sums up the ’60s.
