Irv Gotti

I grew up in Larchmont, New York (in Westchester). Like any 13 year old, I went to around 60 or 70 bar and bat mitzvahs, and became absurdly well-acquainted to the big pop songs of the 2001-2002 season. It turns out, there was only one man behind those songs, and his name is Irv Gotti. The man produced for Ja Rule, Ashanti, J Lo and DMX. In other words, he was a bar mitzvah immortal. A legend. The man responsible for almost all grinding completed between that two year period. Who cares if they all sound eerily similar and feature Ja Rule. Here are three of the songs that made that fateful season what it was. Thank you, Irv Gotti.

“Always on Time” by Ashanti and Ja Rule

“I’m Real” by J Lo and Ja Rule

“Aint It Funny” by J Lo and Ja Rule
